I did it! I finished something!!! & quick I might add.

This was the color of the walls before the demolition began, which was when hubby called to say he might be coming home early. Pressure was on to make this surprise a completed one this time!
Ahhhh! It is done at last I am so pleased!!! It really warmed the room up and made it feel very cozy. I didn't end up having to even get new curtains! Big Bonus!!!
I guess in a way it has a Mexican Navajo flair now that I look at it! Not my intention but I like it!

I know the pictures are small so for a closer look click to enlarge. Here is the kicker.........It ended up he called saying he wasn't coming home early after all ,which was fine cause the fright pushed me into overdrive , I have been up some nights after work till 2-3 am working on this and finally last night I finished!!! Painting that is not the cleaning up part. I thought since he wasn't home til Friday I would just pick here and there..... THEN it HAPPENED he called me at work today to tell me he would be home at midnight!!!!!!! I have till midnight to turn my pumpkin into a carriage!! I was supposed to go to ladies group at our church but I simply couldn't go and man I really needed the rest there tonight. Anyhoo It is finished and totally complete and I am POOPED! Did I mention I'm glad this one didn't turn out to be a U.F.O?

OK he should be home within the hour, I hope he likes it , I'll post his comments about it when he sees it.
EDIT: He came home and I took kim to the room and HE LOVED IT!!!!

Newest project!

Well here is my latest project, I thought I would try to surprise my hobbie hubby and paint the living room before he comes home from a business trip. This is the before picture! I put the paint chips over the Christmas tree!
The lighting in the room makes my sofa look like a different color than my love seat, the love seat is the true color.
My plan is to paint two walls "Laurention red" and the other two walls "Lions Mane".
I have one wall done with the"Laurention red" and have cut into the trim on the bay window with the red. Hope to start on the "Lions Mane" on the other wall tomorrow after doing the second coat of red on the window wall.
I used the painters tape and I'm wondering how I'm going to paint the corners as I can't put the tape on a newly painted wall for at least a week. any ideas???? A steady hand is my current battle plan.

Why Hobbit Hobbies?

Why Hobbit Hobbies, I have far too many hobbies and I thought if I made a blog about them I would be held accountable by any viewers out there who might be interested in encouraging me along to finish some of these MANY projects I have started and never finished! Why Hobbit?, simply because I am hiding in my little cave during the winter months because my 5 foot *1/4 * inch! ( yes it matters!) frame might freeze into the ice age if I do any of my outdoor hobbies until spring is sprung! In the next few posts I will show you some of my U. F. O's ( Un-Finished Objects!) but for now I will just tell you some of the things I "hobby a" ( I don't want to say start until I can also say finish, so I'll say "Hobby at" for now.

From the time I was a little girl I have always been artistic in one way or another. Perhaps I was just hyper and always had to be doing something with my hands I don't know but I wonder sometimes if it is a blessing or a curse! Ahhhhh! It couldn't have been a curse I turned out to be a pretty good hairstylist and nail technician, (that is my work so I won't call it a hobby or people may stop paying me!!!) I was always interested in doing hair and nails, I did my first haircut when I was 10 and a mighty fine job if I must say so. If anyone asked my what I was going to be when I grew up I wouldn't bat an eyelash before saying a " Stylist who owns her own shop" and only 14 years after doing my first haircut I opened my own salon at the just ripened age of 24. I am now 36 plus 440 days.................OK fine 37 but don't tell anyone! I plan I staying 36 for a very long time so don't blow my cover! Shortly after opening my Salon I took up doing nails and added that to my menu. I do gel and acrylic and (silk only if you make me) I also do regular manicures. I can show you some pretty fun stuff I've done on nails on some later posts too. For now here are "some" things I like to do.
